Over the years, I have been blessed to carry out my service to our clients under the umbrellas of some fantastic mentors. They have no doubt enhanced my abilities to provide unique and complex products and solutions to a myriad of issues our clients face. This year, I have been able to begin efforts to give back.
I joined the H.D. Vest Mentors program. As an advisor-mentor, I work with protégés to enhance their levels of service to their clients. We work on basic issues like product introduction, systems, branding and marketing. We also work on how to communicate to clients that financial solutions are a part of the services provided. As always, I hope to learn at least as much from these relationships as I pass along.
Earlier this year, I also became a Chapter Director. My role is to convene monthly meetings with several other advisors within my geographic territory to pass along experiences, product knowledge and updates about our home office. This venue allows us to share ideas, insights and product expertise among the group. It may sound unusual, after all, we do compete somewhat, but H.D. Vest has always had a culture of sharing and helping. And we fit right in!
These roles have allowed me to grow professionally to better serve the needs of our clients. I am able to attend the annual Field Leader’s Conference, which helps me gain insights and be on the cutting edge in a constantly evolving industry.
I was humbled to have been chosen to speak during a learning session at our National Conference this year in Seattle. It was a tremendous experience. I was able to share some insights into our business model, and how we interact with our clients, providing the best-in-class service and product solutions.
